Positron Emission Tomography (PET)

PET scanning is an imaging technique that is very useful for the detection and staging of most cancers, evaluation of lung nodules and evaluation of heart disease.  PET scanning uses a specialized, three dimensional camera to map metabolism after injection of positron labeled glucose.
